For this week's blog post I figured I would go through and explain all the different types of photography sessions I offer at Western Heritage Photography. With many different passions and love to capture a variety of things I have kept my photography business open to offering all different types of session. Let’s talk about them! I am booking all these types of sessions in 2024 so be sure to reach out if you'd like to book a session!
Weddings
Wedding photography is something I sort of naturally fell into as my photography business started growing. It is probably what I focus on the most now in my business. I love meeting new couples and being there on their big day to capture their love story! Planning a wedding and day of can be stressful so I like to be as helpful as my couples need me to be in the process. Having captured several of my own weddings or second and associate shooting for other photographers I have captured many different weddings that have given me the skills to be most effective in capturing them.
Couples
Couples and weddings tend to go hand in hand with each other. Most of the weddings I capture I also photograph engagement photos before because a complimentary engagement session is offered in all of my wedding packages. Updated fall couple photos or couples that just want new photos done are always welcomed at Western Heritage though!
Families
Capturing both immediate and extended family photos are on my portfolio. Fall time is a perfect time to update family photos as it is usually not too hot or cold yet here in Kansas. I am still offering family mini sessions being held October 14 in Manhattan, KS and October 15 in Abilene, KS. Capturing family photos are always fun!
Maternity
Maternity sessions are something I recently started booking. I think part of that is the natural progression of my couples becoming pregnant which I love!! Capturing a couple in various stages of their relationship is one of the best parts!
Seniors
When I first started photography seniors are what I offered! Being in college it was natural to offer senior sessions to fellow classmates (I even 'took' my own senior photos by setting the camera settings and having my friend shoot them). After graduating college, I have taken started taking some high school senior photos. As I have taken on more weddings the number of seniors I photograph has declined but it is something I still offer!
Livestock/Ranch
Last but certainly not least is livestock or ranch photography. Livestock photography is where I really started after college. Photographing all over the country at different livestock shows for livestock photography companies. With an ag degree livestock photography is something that really combines my two passions, agriculture and photography. I love being able to go out to peoples operations and capturing photos while learning about them. Anything from livestock shows, to rodeos, to just cattle on pasture! Any of the above sessions that incorporate livestock is of course a YES!
